About Patients Out of Time
Patients Out of Time is "a compassionate, science-based education forum for the restoration of medical cannabis knowledge" comprised entirely of volunteers: patients, clinicians and scientists who are involved in the medical cannabis arena. The organization depends on individual donations and company/foundation grants for financing. Formed in 1995 by the original federal IND cannabis patients, interested healthcare providers, and, among others, Al Byrne and Mary Lynn Mathre, RN, Patients Out of Time's mission is to educate health care professionals and the public about therapeutic cannabis. To execute the mission, the organization has developed a network of national professional organizations and other reputable groups, providing a supportive environment for individual physicians, nurses and other professionals to more openly join the medical cannabis conversation. This movement resulted in the establishment of the clinical conferences on cannabis therapeutics.
